My LANDR Review After 2 Years (the ultimate music hub?)

A screenshot of the LANDR Studio dashboard.

This is what the LANDR dashboard looks like — I told you, it’s a hub!

We’re modern-day musicians. And we’re freaking lucky!

It’s the future and we have some pretty sweet tools, resources and platforms available to us. Making music, building a brand and creating a career has never been more feasible. This calls for a serious huzzah!

Modern musician tools eliminate friction and make the whole songwriting process easier and more enjoyable. Honestly, the hardest part is just choosing the right one. So hopefully I can help clarify things a bit today.

This is my LANDR review after using them for over two years as a singer-songwriter.

Now let’s do this!

Hey, just a quick heads up that some links in this post may be affiliate links. This is at no extra cost to you, but helps me keep the lights on. Thanks for your support!

What Is LANDR?

LANDR (L and R) is an all-in-one music platform for producers and musicians. They sort of have everything you could ever need to make music, grow a brand, connect and learn, all under one roof:

  • Epic sample packs

  • Premium plugins and effects

  • Collaboration tools

  • AI mastering

  • Distribution

  • Music courses

  • Live streaming sessions (straight from your DAW)

We’ll cover the specifics more below. But for me, LANDR basically feels like the ultimate music hub. I use many of their plugins in my DAW and it’s where I manage all of my releases, demo mixing and other brand logistics.

My LANDR Studio Review (what to expect)

I’ve been using LANDR Studio for a couple years now. And it’s been great! I haven’t had any issues with distribution or plugin problems. It’s worth the money, in my opinion.

They also have a great rating on Trustpilot (4.2/5 stars, based on 950+ reviews).

But let’s dig deeper. This is my experience with all of LANDR’s main features.

LANDR For Distribution and Making Money

A screenshot of the distribution page of LANDR.

I release all my music through LANDR. And so far, it’s been one smooth ride!

Their team always responds if I have questions and their release interface is super intuitive. They give you simple fields to fill in and a big button telling you what to do next. You really don’t need to stress much or watch endless tutorials. LANDR makes it a breeze.

Simply tap on the Distribution tab in your dashboard and then click +New release. From there, just follow the instructions to upload your track information and audio.

With LANDR distribution, you also get tools for promoting your music, managing your earnings and tracking your analytics. Plus, they have a new feature for requesting a YouTube Official Artist Channel.

And of course, they have instant verification for Spotify so you can pitch to playlists, analyze data, upload a Canvas and more.

Another cool new LANDR feature (for monetizing your craft) is the LANDR Fair Trade AI Program. By signing up, you earn money by letting AI models be trained using your music. Pretty sweet if you ask me!

LANDR For AI Mastering

Your LANDR Studio plan comes with AI mixing and mastering.

I mainly use it for my demos, but it does a pretty good job of cleaning things up.

But it won’t save a bad mix – no AI or human can fix a muddy mix or a bad production. Then again, things change quickly – especially with AI – so maybe we’ll be able to get away with mud, clipping and more someday.

But until then, try to get your productions as polished as possible before throwing on LANDR’s AI mastering tool. This will make it work way better.

Let’s use one of my demos to check out how it all sounds.

LANDR For Learning

With your LANDR subscription, you also get access to a whole suite of music courses. It’s an impressive library taught by amazing instructors and I’ve only recently started to explore what’s available.

Not all of the courses are free, but you still get a lot with your membership. Here are some examples of topics you can study:

  • AI songwriting

  • Growing on Spotify

  • Getting fans on social media

  • Mixing techniques

  • DAW tutorials

  • Music production courses

  • Instrument courses

LANDR For Community + Networking

LANDR seriously is an all-in-one hub. They even have a whole tab for collaborating. With your LANDR Studio plan, you can network in lots of cool ways, including:

  • Share music with others

  • Chat with other musicians

  • Hire a professional for help

  • Sell your own services

  • Join communities

It’s all pretty sweet. And since surrounding yourself with more like-minded people is a serious hack for music motivation, improvement and opportunities, LANDR collaboration is a super cool feature to be stoked on.

Who LANDR Is For?

LANDR is perfect for bedroom producers, singer-songwriters and musicians who want to take their productions up a notch, dabble in AI and release music on all major streaming platforms.

LANDR is compatible with all major DAWs, distributes to all major streaming platforms and has plugins and effects for all types of genres.

So LANDR, yay or nay? (final verdict)

I love having a LANDR subscription. I mainly use it for AI mastering, samples and effects and my distribution management.
